Trying to figure out what platform I should get this on? I've got a PS3, Xbox and Steam on my Mac laptop. The PS3 and Xbox are on a huge projector with surround sound, but oftentimes the controls on PC are better (and sometimes the graphics).
But since its a group game I want to be where the people are too.
Do you have a bigger group of friends on one system over another? I haven't heard great things about the PC version from the Gearbox forums. There are some bugs system wide. The PC has alot of online issues right now, the PS3 has a few still, not sure on the 360 Live side.
I used to primarily game on the PC, but I got tried of the whole upgrade hardware for each new games and most of my PC gaming buddies stopped gaming a long time ago. I had a PS1 and then PS2 that I would causally play, but I've gotten pretty deep into the PS3 gaming over the past year and a half.
I agree that it depends on what the majority of your friends have since this is a co-op driven game. Co-op is damn near a requirement to get the most out of the game. I also concur that the PC version being buggy would prevent me from getting it now, but I agree that those bugs will be fixed eventually. I have read in the forums where a lot people are saying that the PC version feels like a bad console port, but you what know until you try I guess.
I hear the Ps3 has a lot of online frame rate problem, but those will be patched soon. I think maybe PC is the best choice, so long as you think your rig could handle it.
Personally I haven't been able to so much as install the PC version due to various issues during the process, and I'm not the only one either. However, I suspect I'm in a very small minority and you probably have pretty decent chances of never running into this issue. I'm sure Steam would allow for a refund if you have a problem anyways.
Also the group finding stuff on Xbox and PS3 normally suck compared to what TF2 has on Steam for example
